Quick morning ride on Saturday while waiting for the slackers to get ready. We did Joe’s to Zippity Do Da. The wind was gusting pretty hard making the knife edge ridges even more hairy.

Ride 2 on Friday. I can’t remember all the trails, but we rode Zippity Do Da down to the 18 Road parking lot, then up Prime Cut and down the upper part of Kessel’s Run back to the campground.
I’m pretty sure this was the ride that Chris broke his chain on.

Did a quick ride after work up Lupine Loop > Blair Witch, down MGM > Larry’s. When we hit the road, we went back up to the 2nd turn onto Lupine and rode down it back to the road. From there we rode across Orton Meadows and down into Fairview.

Rallied against the threat of rain for a great Saturday afternoon ride. Up Zig Zag > Sunshine to Storm Peak, then back down Sunshine > Moonlight > Huffmans > Valley View.
I made the mistake of trying to ride down the trail that crosses under the gondola, but apparently it is closed for logging through 11/1. I looked around for other options down, because I really didn’t feel like riding back up, but came up empty. I ended up bushwhacking down Bashor Bowl in grass over my handlebars.
Other than that, this was one of my favorite rides of the year, the trails were empty and tacky from the rain. Good times.

This was my first HIM triathlon and sort of grueling at that. The course itself was easy and scenic, except for the 60 degree water temp which left my feet frozen through the entire bike portion of the race. The 13 mile run was an out and back along dirt and paved trail that wraps around Aurora Reservoir, and might have been enjoyable if not for my stomach which almost immediately decided it did not want to be running anymore. I can’t say I really conquered this race, but I finished in 6:24:04 and am glad it’s over.

Yikes, first ride in a month… it’s been a while.
This is Lupine Loop to the Quarry, then out Blair Witch down MGM and Eye to Eye. The last bit of this trail back down to Howelsen is a blast. I’m not sure if it has a name, but it is like a bermed out slalom course. Good times.

This 2 mile run takes you through a beautiful part of Steamboat where it borders the ski area. I use this quick run after getting off the bike for a brick workout.

A run through this planned community outside of Boulder was supposed to be much longer, but I just couldn’t take the boredom. The sidewalks are all very nice and the the road is not travelled at all, but i’d rather run on a treadmill next time.

My favorite mountainbike trail in Utrecht. Very technical compared to the other trails in the area.

A beautiful out and back from downtown Buena Vista to the Colorado Trail south trailhead via CR321. The ride out is a gradual climb at the base of the Collegiate Peaks that passes Mt. Princeton Hot Springs around mile 10. The ride back to BV is a scenic and relaxing downhill. Do this ride early before traffic and wind become annoying.

First time on the Dumont Lake Trail this year. Nice to get out on a long ride again.
